The pork scam is just a symptom of what ails our political culture. Im convinced that P-Noy is serious about Matuwid na Daan. But I dont think he has fully appreciated the underlying causes of the culture of corruption in this country. This is why Matuwid na Daan has never been translated into a doable action plan that would have systematically addressed these underlying causes. Its like assuming management of a distressed company with which Ive had personal experience. The first order of business is to develop a rehabilitation plan that would put the company in the right direction moving forward. P-Noy still has 27 months to go before his term ends. Its still enough material time to fix this mess if he starts tomorrow.
