The post-Gram Burritos may have lost a bit of the edge when Gram was forced out, but their sound was much more polished, much more accessible when the other Burrito Brother took the helm. IF...If A&M records had been still interested in promoting them instead of the British acts like Humble Pie, Cat Stevens and Joe Cocker...If they had management like Geffen and Roberts (Elliott, not Rick), and If Chris had been more assertive, the Hillman-Rick Rick Roberts-Bernie Leadon Burritos might have given Leadons soon-to-be band mates a good run for their money. But the lessons learned and great songs like this one became a template for what Chris would be doing 15 years later - in the Desert Rose Band. Alan, S.A.
