The practice of a culture/tradition repeatedly usually leads to norm. As it has always been the practice since the history of the Nigerian Judiciary to automatically appoint the most senior member of the bench to head the bench when the current one retires. But the Government of Rivers State led by Rt Hon Ameachi in collaboration with a Fed High Court Judge of Rivers State (Justice Lambo Akambi) felt otherwise that the appointment ought to be based on suitability and maybe not based on seniority. What a pity, Smh. Personally I feel there is no justification whatsoever for shot changing Justice Okocha who is the most senior member of the Rivers State Judiciary.( Among the members of the bench) On grounds of suitability Smh again...How then is Ameachi (APC) different from PDP?
