The president just announced that he is taking his family on a luxury vacation for half a month in Hawaii. Of course, “he” actually means “we” — because it is the American people who are stuck with the bill. Obama expressed how he was “eagerly looking forward” to flying over the Pacific for the exotic getaway at a private villa. The entire Obama family will spend 17 days on that holiday. Now, it might be one thing if the vacation was paid for out of Obama’s own pocket. But according to The Blaze, the only part of the lavish holiday that the family will pay for themselves is the rental house. “The president’s family covers the cost of a private beach front residence in Kailua, Oahu, for the span of the vacation, reportedly dubbed a ‘Winter White House’ that costs up to $3,500 a day, or $75,000 a month,” stated a report. You read that right. The vacation house alone costs $75,000 a month. That’s more than the median yearly income of families in the United States … for a one month rental. The costs of the rest of the exotic vacation won’t be paid by the Obamas. Instead, they’re giving the bill to the U.S. taxpayer. “Still, taxpayers help foot the bill for security and travel costs: A similar vacation last year cost more than $1.4 million,” reported The Blaze. “President Obama incurred $7,396,531.20 in flight expenses alone for his 2013 vacations to Hawaii and Martha’s Vineyard and his trip to California to appear on the Jay Leno Show,” according to Judicial Watch.
