The price of fuel in Namibia remains unchanged for December. This is the fourth time in a row that the petrol price remains unchanged since September and the second time for the price of diesel since November. Mines and Energy Minister, Isak Katali, on Friday said Government was optimistic that there might be decreases in pump prices during the first quarter of 2014. However, he noted it would only be possibile if international oil prices followed the current trend and if the Namibian currency gained more value against the US dollar. Walvis Bay fuel pump prices for petrol and diesel will thus remain at 11 dollars 66 cents a litre for 95 Octane Unleaded Petrol, while Diesel 500ppm stands at 12 dollars 27 cents a litre and Diesel 50ppm remains at 12 dollars 33 cents a litre.
