The prizing behaviour of our local manufacturers will determine - TopicsExpress

The prizing behaviour of our local manufacturers will determine the rate and level at which Zimbabwe is going to revival its industries. The prices for our local producers are too exorbitant and beyond the reach of many people. When grown ups was introduced in the market it cost $2.75 and the price of Cerevita was $3.75. The price for Crevita was forced to drop to $3.10 due to competition. Grown ups is no longer at the market and guess what?, Cerevita is now costing $3.80. There is a lot of profiteering by our local industries, and when left un-controlled the local people will suffer. Buy Zimbabwe should also bear in mind that consumers need to be protected from our unscrupulous business players. Look at the pricing for our blended fuel, the prices for all the garages are different and not homogenous. The intelligence is not in banning the foreign imports or increasing duties for these products. Government is aware that it should support the local primary industries which in our case is agriculture. Buy Zimbabwe will not achieve anything when they are failing to advice President Mugabe and his government including Minister Made, to stop giving farmers free inputs including fertilizers and maize seed but to financially support the local industries to increase production of fertilizers so that those that are serious with farming can buy at subsidized prices. You may be surprised to learn that the local industries will be importing fertiliser and other inputs. We must not forget that when the Indigenisation and Empowerment policy was enacted , the masses were not even consulted but only those few with the political muscles and links were benefited. After they have benefited and grabbed the 51% of shares , they now come back to us saying you must buy us. We dont know who benefited under this policy, who took which companies and the number of shares thereof, this has been kept as a secret but when it comes to buying of Zimbabwe, people are now involved. We know that when Zimbabweans are buying Zimbabwe, they will be enriching few Zimbabweans who benefited under this policy. We need to go back to the fundamentals as a foundation for national building and development. The resources of the country should be shared in a transparent way and equitably. You dont destroy the existing companies and industry in order to create a new generation of entrepreneurs.
