The problem here is that the only people that understand systematic racism exists are the ones who are affected by it. If you dont wake up with fear in your heart because you are the parent to a black son then you dont feel like it is a problem. But the fact of the matter is a black male is 4x more likely to die than a white one. That should speak wonders regardless of the details. This case was public but these cases are numerous and make me so scared to have a child. My husband has two sons. Two black baby boys who whether YOU like it or not are 4x more likely to be murdered in America. I was raised by parents who arent fans of the police so I never really felt like I should trust them but my mom never had to prepare me for them the way that I will have to prepare (what is likely to be) my future son. I just had two beautiful boys born into my family and their mothers wont be preparing them for the world the way that mothers and fathers all over our country prepare their children. Thats the privilege that everyone wants to deny. Regardless of how you feel about this case... Thats the privilege that you deny. Too many people die by violence and black lives top that list. #blacklivesmatter
