The problem of Adamawa is elitism coupled with the fact that its youths despite being schooled were ignorant and uneducated, they allowed themselves to be indocrinated with the venom of divide and rule hence divided along ethnic and religious lines. Our elites were no longer role models but stumbling block for development, they had to an extent became sycophants despite their wealth and status. Tribalism and religious sentiment is as old as the state though on a small scale, but had became a yardstick for employment, redeployment and promotions instead of competence and credibility. The civil servants on the other hand were mostly as corrupt as the political class who often shout whenever the system refused to carry them along the corridors of corruption, that was the reason why you must pay a bribe for you to get your medical reports from a public hospital, contractors must also pay token before their proposals will be forwarded to the right channel hence either not doing what is expected of them or not doing the job at all....and this along with other factors were responsible for our roller-coaster development. However, what the people of Adamawa need now is not only a political change but a change in mindsets, a spiritual healing and a prayer for our selfish elites to either be on the side of the state or let posterity treats them the same way they treated the state and the country!
