The proclamation of atheism is, essentially, akin to Newton saying to himself, As soon as I have fully obtained within my grasp of understanding the innermost invisible properties of this gravity, then I will recognize that an apple has struck my head. The special case with atheists, however, and the primary reason I think we can get so lost in it, is the ignorance of the fact that its NOT ones understanding of how or even why the apple fell thats the main thing, which is not to say thats not important because it is. But rather, ITS ALL ABOUT THE APPLE... Just some thoughts on my own past atheisms. Ah yes, da past can hurt. But you can either run from it... Or learn from it. -Rafiki And faith... Faith is in remembering the apple... Because faith comes FROM the apple falling to you in the first place and goes forward with you asking questions of the apple and asking without a predetermined agenda or end, other than simply wanting to know, why it dropped on your head. Faith is somehow trusting, somehow knowing, that if you threw the apple back up into the tree, it would (somehow, for some reason) come back down to you.
