The production on the RTE2 Second Captains Live show tonight, and every night I have seen it, is appalling. The direction, blocking, transitions and sound are a travesty. It looks completely unrehearsed and makes the on camera talent look amateurish and ill prepared, which they are not. It is a live show, but there are very few moving parts, and there is no excuse for a wide shot of the entire studio for 2 to 3 seconds while a presenter is talking directly into the camera.
