The prompt response of the lead rescuer, his admonitions to the victim to remain still (though clearly when panicked in this situation it seems it was hard to get the message across), carrying a shovel when skiing off piste, all seem like good factors (and since the end of the rescue is not shown hopefully a successful outcome). This event looked like it could happen anywhere. The importance of skiing with friends who not only care about their powder day but also ski with an awareness of where everyone is at all times is critical. The only comment or reflection thst I would make is that in a tree well rescue never stop above the tree. This could lead to further destabilizing of the snow and more coming into the victims only possible open pocket for breathing (assuming that they even have one. A great reminder of the very real dangers involved in adventure sll mountain skiing.
