The public service unions are standing their ground when it comes to no changes to pensions, I agree that there should be no changes to pensions for current and former public service workers but realistically it has to change for future employees if the government are going to be able to address other issues that are now and will in the future affect the people of this province such as health care, an aging population, education and so on. However with that said I would like to see the Premier apply the same thinking to the pensions of the MHAs in that went she stands up in the house of assembly next week she will bring forth legislation that will require future MHAs to serve a minimum of ten years before being eligible for a pension.
