The purpose of yoga...to shine the light of intention into the darkest parts of the body. Can you tell I am Home SICK again today and still needing to travel? My heart is needing New Mexico and enchantment. So I did some mat travel. Yoga has benefit me so much. Especially keeping me from back surgery, pain medications and depression that might come from all of the above. So I thought what poses do I generally avoid...out of fear...out of pain or lack of understanding.. With S-Curve scoliosis??? ....you bet... it is SIDE BENDS! OMG I found all kinds of weakness and tightness. I dont do enough side bending in my daily life! So heres my travel plan you yogis: Warm-up Urdhva Hastasana Adho Muka Svasasana 4-5 Surya Namaskar Utthita Parsvakonasana Ardha Chandrasana with focus on bondas and breath Then poses to analyze: Utthita Hasta padagusthasana II Parighasana Parvrtta Janu Sirsasana I repeated the warm-up and poses in a round. I registered the feeling of change my warm-up poses felt after completing the sequence once and the difference my study pose gained each time around....what I am reminded of ....that it is true...all yoga poses are exactly the same they are just totally different Its not about the final pose...its the journey....the simple poses....thats exposes the deepest dark parts in the body.... It was a great practice.....I know because it ended with me doing some DANCING.... a cha cha to be exact! JOY and LOVE
