The ramblings inside my head: Giving much thought to the next project and trying to narrow things down. Im focusing on melody and looking at various approaches to form and develop melodies. One thing I do know is that all my life I have been moved by simple melodies and songs and even as a musician I am still baffled by jazz melodies. Dare I say that much of serious jazz, I find confusing and not pleasing and Im not sure why. My goal at this point is to try to take a step back to the simple melodies I would hear in my head back in the early days when I was just learning guitar. Hopefully I can create a collection of songs that come from a place deep inside and appeal to the emotions in a way that only music can.
