The rapture could occur at anytime, for those who believe It is the next thing on the prophetic calender though. Once it occurs, it will pave the way for the Anti-Christ to take power. He will make a peace treaty with Israel and protect them for 3 1/2 years, then turn on them. He will declare himself to be God and demand worship. Near the end, Israel will be overrun and their enemies will have them by the throat, it is at this time that Christ returns as their Messiah and Savior.
