The real problem is this is a huge insurance cost against people that work 30 hours. They likely make too much money to earn much of a subsidy, and yet their employer wont have to cover them either. This IS an attack on ACA - any change the Republicans propose needs to watched carefully. IF the democrats think they might want to do this, they should agree to it ONLY if the republicans agree to a change in the law that makes it clear that everyone is eligible for a subsidy no matter what state they are from and whether or not that state set up its own exchange or relied on the federal one. Thus doing away with the need for the case that is currently on the way to the supreme court. The Democrats need to make sure they get SOMETHING out of every bill they agree to do in a bipartisan manner.
