The recent McCutcheon decision by the corrupt Supreme Court is - TopicsExpress

The recent McCutcheon decision by the corrupt Supreme Court is both an embarrassment to jurisprudence and the few remaining tatters of our democratic form of government and a travesty of justice so large, so egregious, so determined, that there is simply no doubt that the five justices who wrote for the majority are completely and wholeheartedly doing what they can to bring about the subjugation of our nation to the corporate forces who have been waging battle on us for the better part of thirty years or so. It looks now as if total victory is near for them and they can surely taste it. Even taking the decision on the merits of the stated tenets of their beloved originalism theories, the ruling is a farce. It is quite clear our founding fathers had zero desire to see our country become a corporate oligarchy, and there is no language available to grant succor to the originalists in any founding documents. But, to their credit, it appears they did not even bother in this regard. But to read the justifying language is to get apoplectically angry. For the ruling is beyond disingenuous in its refusal to entertain any form of corruption arising out of the vast sums of money in politics, insisting that the measure should be a strict quid-pro-quo, that is: unless someone is literally handing the party or candidate cash in return for an explicit favor, it is not, actually, corruption. This, by the way, in direct opposition to the various legislatures that did indeed see corruption and attempted to limit that corrosive influence of money by passing laws against it. The Supreme Court has once again showed a pernicious disregard and disrespect for the people (in the guise of their elected representatives), and engaged in rank political activism from the bench. That there are actually conservatives defending this activism shows how hypocritical people have become. But I ask any conservative, especially those who sought to pretend a greater fealty to the Constitution than their progressive brethren, to point out in our great Constitution the phrases and sections that enable and empower the Supreme Court to emasculate voters and legislatures and impose their own political views on the system. This ruling and this court are a joke, and the judges John Roberts, Samuel Alito, Anthony Kennedy, Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas have once again lent their names to a decision which will live in infamy and will stain the court and our country, perhaps indelibly.
