The recent cease fire announcement by the FG with Boko Haram has baffled me. Why?The momentum for all intents and purposes was on the side of the Government. Why allow Boko Haram to re-arm, re-group and re-strategize by conceding a cease fire to them? For all intents and purposes, Boko Haram is not even showing signs there is a cease fire agreement in place. They continue to pillage, burn, destroy and annihilate communities without any regard for the sanctity of human life. For me the issue is so clear, you can negotiate for the release of the girls/women and at the same time continue your relentless onslaught on these monsters. The USA is secretly negotiating with the Taliban on Afghanistan and its future and yet the war continues. They are not mutually exclusive. Except there is another agenda, I see no reason why we should have any form of cease fire with Boko Haram. Their ranks should be decimated with extreme prejudice. Enough of the kid’s treatment with these monsters!
