The resignation of our new city manager brings to the forefront just how bad the situation is in city hall. Now we have absolutely nobody in charge and in a position to lead us out of this crisis. city managers dont just resign and walk away from these jobs unless circumstances leave them no other options. Clearly Joseph realized our council is not capable of solving problems. They only understand how to spend money and politic. On top of the financial crisis we have a leadership crisis and thats about to get worse too. There is a all out effort on the part of Skip Monet, Al Damitio and the newest council member David James to unseat our Mayor Pro tem and install Monit as Mayor. The city is in a crisis and these three are doing their best to make it worse. Skip Monit represents exactly the kind of leadership we are trying to get rid of. Since he has been on Council he has supported everything the Mayor supports. He has not done anything to change the culture in city hall as promised. Infact he has fully embraced it to the detriment of us all. Council man David James was recalled by the people of Westland and kicked off Council. Thats not a easy thing to do. Yet Westland residents made it happen. Now it comes out that hes been pals with Monit for quite a long time. He didnt wind up on our council because he was the best man for the job. Hes there because he can be manipulated, plain and simple. Since taking his seat his voting record bears this out. For us to hear he was at city hall in a private meeting with the Mayor and X Manager John Zech leads us to believe this man needs to be watched closely. Somethings not right here. And last but not least, we have Al Damitio rounding out the Three Amigo team. Another career politician who only knows how to follow. TheTerm limit question on this Novembers ballot is the reason why the Mayor decided to get out and run for the commissioners job, if passed they will eventually solve the Al Damitio problem. And David James just might find himself facing another recall if he dont snap out of it.
