The response of the BC Liberals to any question about poverty (we are 9th of 10 provinces in child poverty and worst in overall poverty levels) or about unemployment (we are 8th of 10 provinces in private sector job creation) is always to simplistically claim that their LNG pipe dream will solve everything. We believe that resource industries, including natural gas, will continue to be the core of our economy. However, our economy is about much more. All of that said, the key to addressing poverty is to have a plan. We have repeatedly called for a legislated poverty reduction plan and the BC Liberals have refused, repeatedly. How can it not make sense to coordinate all the ministries of government, all government policies and all government roles to strategically address the root causes of poverty? bit.ly/1wLjXLK
