The results of my neuropsych tests contradict the diagnosis of ADHD (generally speaking, I performed better without the Adderall). They turned up no evidence of neuronal damage resulting from drug use or concussive brain trauma -- no signs organic brain dysfunction. The tests did indicate serious psychological interference to my executive functioning and intellectual performance. Despite my exceptional verbal aptitude (I excelled on every portion of that half of the test) I had significant difficulties with a number of tasks relating to abstract reasoning, spatial awareness, visual memory, etc. I dont have an attention problem, a memory problem, or any form of learning disorder. According to Dr. Canick, I have a memory retrieval problem. Dr. Gann thinks its anxiety related. It keeps me from functioning at the full capacity of my superior and gifted intelligence, he says. He believes he can treat it, and recommends that we intensify our therapy sessions.
