The right to life and the right to property are mutually - TopicsExpress

The right to life and the right to property are mutually exclusive. You cannot logically believe in both equally without a contradiction. If you believe in a right to life for all human beings, you cannot logically also believe in the right of some human beings to have exclusive access to physical necessities over others. That is why I became a communist, because I place the right of life over and above the right of exclusive access to stuff. Its not that big of a leap if you look at it from that perspective. Whenever someone talks about property I feel it is imperative to distinguish property from possession. Property is a social construct, possession is a physical phenomenon. Property is a legal or social right to exclusive access to stuff. Possession is the natural state of having physical access to stuff. Anti-property communists and socialists are not against people having physical access to stuff, in fact that is precisely why we are opposed to property, because it explicitly excludes some people from having that physical access based on arbitrary presuppositions like purchase or birthright. - Matt Barsan
