The right wing media and social networks in Israel were anxious to shift suspicion in the murder of the Palestinian teen to an honour killing because the youngster might be gay or an inter-clan rivalry. The revenge seeking of Jewish mobs was a perfect opportunity- the holy month of Ramadan notwithstanding- for Arabs to kill this boy and Jews would be blamed without evidence. The arrest of 6 or is it 3 Jewish nationalists really doesnt change anything we will be told. Of course those arrested are innocent until proven guilty- not sure if the same applies to Arab terrorists - so lets not jump to conclusions and all scenarios are still open. If this isnt good enough we all know that Israeli intelligence is dominated by secular Jews who hold biases against the religious and the settlements so are the investigators really neutral? Of course absurd, but the only response by the nationalists who created the atmosphere for revenge must be Al-Chet the traditional Jewish confession of sins and the begging for selicha - forgiveness- for their sins. Had this revenge occurred during Talmudic times a public fast day would be declared. The only hope is repair between Jews and Arabs - perhaps this past week of murder and revenge will bring some people on both sides to their senses.
