The rope lat pull down is one of my favorite lat pull down variations . The rope allows for a slightly deeper range of motion during pulling. Stay seated upright throughout the set - do not lean back. Leaning back and using your body to swing the weight down will not result in target muscle contraction. If you want to do rows, then do not do them on on a lat pull down pulley. To add more intensity, slow the rep timing down to 1-2-2.
