The rose flower is an amazingly beautiful flower. It looks beautiful, smells great, and feels very luscious to touch. But it is not the beauty of the rose flower that stirs my curiosity today, it is in the fact that the rose flower is often surrounded by thorny stems and leaves. And as I pondered on those, I remembered that no treasure is placed on surface grounds, no big fish dwells on shallow waters, no lion is found in neighborhood gardens, no diamond exists within easy reach. Yes, they all must be accessed with the downpayment of the price of caution, diligence, visionary pursuits,, tactical readjustments and uncommon persistence. So, my dear friend, you must dare to reach your potential with caution, with an uncommon drive towards excellence, ignoring the ridicules of men, abandoning the laughters of the mediocre, jettisoning the pull-down-syndrome of the indolent, winking at the mockery of the lazy and reaching out for that treasure that the God of heaven had planted within you, because you have come to know that every vision has it’s thorny path and every thorny pathway can be criss-crossed with prayer and diligence. May I ,therefore, crave your indulgence to pray that you will by-pass the thorns of life with ease, you will not be distracted by their occasional piercings, because you are daily reaching out and pulling out that pleasure in you that silences the pressures around you, growing in the persuasion that you are not alone in this life.
