The rural electrification authority REA has today signed a contract with Trans Africa supply services limited for the 2015 sustainable solar market packages SSMP programme. Speaking during the signing ceremony in Lusaka today, REA chief executive officer Geoffrey Musonda said that under this second phase of the project, the authority will spend approximately 770, 000 us dollars on electrification of 165 public and social institutions in four selected districts in Zambia. He adds that the districts are Zambezi, Mwinilunga, Lundazi and Chama and the programme will involve electrification of classrooms, teacher’s houses, rural health centers staff houses, local courts and other public facilities in the districts.
