The saying goes: What we allow will continue; and this goes whether or not we accept responsibility or not. We have allowed the government to run over us, our rights, our childrens futures etc. since Nixon. I say Nixon because he was the president when I was coming of age and coming to realizations. Nixon said: When the president does it, it is not illegal and he also said: A president can bomb whomever he likes. Both Obama and Bush have proven these statements to be true. Whether we acknowledge this or not; this is the case. We allowed Bush to use falsified information to start Wars (plural) and even after the facts were clear we still allowed it. One of the first statements Obama made after his first inauguration was: The will be no investigation into the Bush administration. This statement could be a smoking gun to prior knowledge and for the continuation of wrong doing. We did nothing about the transgressions of the Bush administration and are doing nothing about the transgressions of the Obama administration and so the Wars and other crimes continue; without accountability. What do we expect for the future? If we expect things to get better or for the government to become a benign entity by the next sunrise we are sadly mistaken. If we believe we are not responsible for what these so-called leader do we are equally mistaken. To allow these things to go on makes us guilty of compliance. And it shows how little we care for our fellow Humans. We do not see the bombs dropping nor the children being murdered therefore we are free of responsibility.
