The saying is that no good deed goes unpunished and today it was proven true. Ella was picking up trash on the way home from school and stepped into an ant pile, her little foot sank all the way in and she was covered so quickly. We pulled off her sock and shoe and I doused her with the ice water from the bottles we were drinking and then gave her my shoe to wear. She was still thrilled to get the trash picked up and happily did so the rest of the way home. What a trooper!
