The saying that a bird in hands is worth more than all the birds in the bush is never taken seriously by politicians. I keep wondering what gives the Ministers that will soon be resigning from Jonathans cabinet to contest guber elections in their states the confidence that they will make it. I always look at people like Labaran Maku with eyes of pity; a man not known to be a political machine or have good political structures or strong godfathers in the state taking such political (mis)steps having been favoured greatly by Providence is not only pathetic but very unfortunate. Among the Ministers wanting to govern their states, we know those who can and will make it, like Samuel Ortom of Benue state. Those feather-weight Ministers who cant even win LGA elections should better remain in the cabinet and achieve what they can achieve from there.
