The school board has remained silent on its stance regarding the common core. While the governor states that the next 2 years will not count academically for students, our superintendent is contradicting that. Furthermore, the tests at the elementary level, Math and ELA are not grade appropriate material. They are causing students to have anxiety attacks, throw up on their test, have accidents, and fear for their teachers jobs. Teachers have confirmed that the material is so far beyond the comprehension of the students that they are almost set up for failure. The tests not only will eventually reflect the students transcript, but also the fate of the teachers employment and state funding awarded to schools. Other districts have mobilized to change this. NT has stayed quiet. What are your thoughts...
