The second Phase of the World Chess Championship is over, few - TopicsExpress

The second Phase of the World Chess Championship is over, few observations about the match. 1. The first four games were not so well played, Anands opening preparation proved to be very effective but when out of opening, he played below strength (in the second game). Similarly in the third game Carlsen played much below his level and lost in the opening itself. 2. In the second phase, i.e games 5 to 8, the players are playing MUCH BETTER, LIKE A TRUE CHAMPION AND CHALLENGER. Carlsen is quite comfortable in opening phase now and Anand is very comfortable as well as accurate even in long tiring games. 3. Carlsen is obviously better placed now, one point ahead, but things are very unclear. It is now clear that one player could beat the other only if he got a tangible advantage from the very opening phase. The quality of remaining games could be even better hereafter. One more win for Anand and he is in the race for title. So, let us all see what happens next.
