Zimbabwe batted first and made 153-7 from their 20 overs, with Irfan Ahmed taking three wickets, Haseeb Amjad two and Nizakat Khan and Aizaz Khan one apiece. In reply, Hong Kong’s innings went down to the last ball, but Mark Chapman hit a six to bring up an unbeaten half century and earn the win for his country. He was supported well by Tanwir Afzal, who made 37 not out from just 21 balls. It was not such a successful start for Nepal, who were defeated by five wickets by Ireland. Nepal batted first and made 137-7, with Gyanendra Malla top scoring with 41 and captain Paras Khadka making 31. In reply, Ireland were in some trouble at 30-2 but quickly recovered to win by five wickets with five balls remaining. The bowling effort was led by Jitendra Mukhiya, who took 3-24 in 3.1 overs, while Shakti Gauchan chipped in with the other two. In a game between two Associate members, this will be a historic matchup for both Hong Kong and Nepal, and both will be looking to take a momentous victory.
