The secret to a good deal is one where you offer more than you receive. Obviously, in a world of short termism and demon negiotiators, this statement seems very wrong, but in my opinion, if you approach deals wanting to give more than you receive, you are more likely to get long term value. Ive seen it so many times - hard ass negiotiator gets price right down and saves money...only to find out that the service supplied is not what they expected. Deals need to be fair on both sides, otherwise one party will feel aggreived. So when you do your next deal, make sure that the other party are truely happy, because then you will build a stronger long term relationship.
