The secrets to most, if not all, that we encounter in the spiritual journey is found within the Vedas, but most people have lost touch with the ability to tap into the vast array of knowledge contained within the Vedas. Lets examine one real-world example. Within the Vedas, there is reference to Dasyus. But it is not a people as in a race rather a people with a quality. The quality that comprises Dasyus is one that opposes knowledge. But there is more, a Dasyu will amass wealth, but will be against wealth or prosperity for spiritual people. So they feel wealth is fine when they are the recipient, but oppose it for others. Now think about this, I see this all the time amongst people. Think how often we hear of someone being condemned for trying to make a living through teaching spirituality, yet, with our own work, we expect fair wages. Embracing these qualities is to embrace Dasyu or asuric qualities that block one from the light of knowledge. This same lesson can be applied to defeating negative sensory input as well. So the Dasyus are not only a state of mind but specific actions. These actions include embracing the negative or too worldly expressions of life. The mentality of Dasyu would also include greed. When one performs these actions or embraces this mentality, they are in effect becoming a Dasyu, and their spiritual journey is one of embracing the light and moving away from the Dasyu level of consciousness. The Vedas teaches how to do this!
