~ The sense of arrogant entitlement in this nation of my birth is enough to make one sick. The true heroes, unsung, are cast aside as those with all they need fret with worry and confuse every issue before us; no reason or rhyme to their behaviour, save for chaos inherent. Earn what you have, hold your dignity close, and stay true and loyal to those you love and do well unto you, and you will always be counted. Become part of the wailing masses and you will be called out not by our voices, but by your very actions and nature. ~ ~ Isle Of Integrity, Lost ~ Once upon a time We were noted as the fair; A land of wide-brown tunity, oft-spoke of, ere and there, And in such times, we alone Gave shore and haven to the lost And did as such unto others, despite the soaring cost, To workers and their wives The middle, the rich and the poor And now we seem to bear it all upon this countrys dusty floor, A sense of daft entitlement, An arrogance not tied to who we are; If anything it shows quite a marked and ugly scar So next time you think it fair To whine for that which is already claimed Take a look at what you have and what your dignity can gain, For great-expectation is naught but vanity; And shall lead nowhere, but to disappoint Leaving this country bleeding heavily, while we blind ourselves to every point. ~ Caleb Svikart ~
