The shelter is nearing completion and the reality of getting it - TopicsExpress

The shelter is nearing completion and the reality of getting it all ready has hit. Someone asked today for a list of what we needed and all I had was these little thoughts flitting around in my mind. Now they, or at least some of them, are on the official list below. Donations of money to help with fencing, cost about $12,000 Refrigerator (used will be fine as long as it works and is clean) Open shelving units Cabinets with drawers Table for medical room 2 larger plastic kiddie pools to use for the whelping rooms. Numbers for kennel identification, 1 through 22 Cork boards with frames Hooks on wall mountable boards to be used for tools, cat box scoopers, coats Wood or metal post to place near highway for rural addressing (we are 5358) Things for cats to climb on that are washable. Wall-mounted things are nice. Cat room colors are lavender, blue, green and yellow. The carpet and rope cat trees used in homes dont work well for shelters. Kuranda beds for dog kennels, price varies with size and frame, starting at about $70 Picture holders for each of the 22 kennels, something the small cage cards can slip in and out of easily and that is waterproof Small table and chairs Aid with landscaping. There will be a small garden with flowers and shrubs outside the cattery and another across the driveway with a backdrop of trees for shade in the summer and windbreak in the cold with an area of garden in front of them for flowers, shrubs and memorial stones. Aid can include advice on what, when and how to plant and actual labor in preparing the ground, planting, etc Paper towel dispensers Bathroom utility shelf or cabinet Lidded wastepaper baskets Large metal dog crates
