The simplicity of taking a life never ceases to amaze me. How one - TopicsExpress

The simplicity of taking a life never ceases to amaze me. How one can be living one second, and the next, through an act of war, one no longer exists on Earth. Just like that. Over an idea or an ideal that isnt truth and isnt in the interest of the entirety, only in the interest of a few. I am saddened that we war amongst each other instead of supporting each other across the globe. When I hear that tens of thousands of children across the globe die each day from malnutrition while others throw away excess food, it breaks my heart. When I see refugees shown in the evening news carrying what they can, including members of their own families who are too weak to walk, trudging aimlessly down roads which lead to imprisonment in refugee camps or worse, I am incensed. I am absolutely stunned that anyone would consider taking what they will at the expense of the lives and well-being of others. Others will cheer on the conflicts as if they were at a football game with one team winning. In war, no one really wins. There is a cost to everyone. To some more than others. This is the primitive and unevolved human experience. Meg Blackburn, Conversations with the Children of Now.
