The sin which doth so easily beset us is UNBELIEF… The - TopicsExpress

The sin which doth so easily beset us is UNBELIEF… The following is my position that the sin which doth so easily best us is UNBELIEF. In Hebrews 3:12 The writer wrote: Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. Four times the subject of UNBELIEF is addressed in the book of Hebrews; see Hebrews 3:12; 19; 4:6; 11.) The word faith is addressed 32 times in Hebrews and runs throughout the book as a subject, starting in 4:2 and ending in 13:7. In Hebrews contextually the believer were forsaking faith in Christ alone for salvation and were seeking subjection to the Mosaic Law; in which, to do such is equated with unbelief. UNBELIEF is the sin which doth so easily beset us: Hebrews 12:1-3 (1) Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses (This is referencing those heroes of the faith mentioned in chapter 11.), let us lay aside every weight (This is referencing anything whether intrinsically good or evil that hinders the Christian running a victorious race.), and the sin (UNBELIEF) which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience (This is the ability to abide faithful in and through the LORD Jesus Christ regardless of the situation or circumstance.) the race that is set before us, (2) Looking (spiritually, scripturally, and supernaturally perceiving by faith) unto Jesus the author (the originator) and finisher (completer) of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. (3) For consider (same idea as looking unto Jesus) him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. (As we faithfully focus on the LORD Jesus Chris, by faith, we will victoriously run the Christian race, and we will not become weary or faint in our minds.) In general, I believe that the sin which doth so easily beset us is UNBELIEF, because it is one of two root sins of sin entering the Universe when Satan sinned, and the sin of UNBELIEF that has entered humanity through the sin of Adam and Eve. The other root sin of all sin, I perceive is pride or an independent spirit in attitude or action that resists, refuses, or rejects God’s sovereignty over us in one’s prideful UNBELIEF. The word UNBELIEF is used four times in the book of Hebrews UNBELIEF departs from the living God: Hebrews 3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. UNBELIEF does not experience God’s supernatural rest: Hebrews 3:19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief. Hebrews 4:6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: Hebrews 4:11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
