The singing contest continues this Friday, August 9 at the Dawg Patch, 506 Howard Jones Road, Maryville. Three more contestants will progress to the Semi-Finals in an effort to win a recording opportunity in Nashville. HOW TO ENTER: Entry forms may be picked up from the Host starting at 7:00 pm and must be given back to the Host by 7:30 pm eastern standard time the night of the Contest. Entries received without a completed entry form or without a parent’s or legal guardian’s signature will be disqualified. If you are providing the music, it must be turned in with the entry form. Absolutely no burned and/or downloaded CD’s or CDG’s allowed – no exceptions. Using “burned” discs is a copyright infringement and is against the law. Once the entry form has been submitted, no changes will be allowed to the song choice. Entrants may enter as many weeks as desired. JUDGING: Each entry will be evaluated and scored using a 40-point system, receiving up to ten (10) points for the first three categories, and five (5) points for the two last categories. Vocal Ability (rhythm/pitch/phrasing) Stage Presence (movement/confidence/command) Appearance (costume/attire) Originality (singing an original piece, or making the recording ”your own”) and Crowd Appeal (cheering, applauding, dancing)
