The souvlaki is the best-known Greek food, a word that invokes Greece as much as the Acropolis, the Parthenon, retsina and ouzo. Anyone who’s visited Greece will have tasted the famous Greek souvlaki at least once. For those of you who haven’t been introduced to it yet, we’ll describe the souvlaki, present a few photos and invite you round this weekend to taste a Greek Treasure! The Souvlaki is the most ancient and the healthiest fast-food probably in existence. It is made out of unleavened flatbread, tomatoes, red onions, tzatziki and the chargrilled skewer of your choice which can be either pork or chicken or minced beef or even vegetables for the vegetarians. At The Olive Grove we use proper greek flatbread and fresh hand-made skewers, we will also give you a side order of chips and all that just for £4.95. We serve the souvlaki in the restaurant daily from 12:00 am to 6:00 pm but it is also available all-day(12:00am-11:00pm) as a take-away and if you are in a hurry give us a call on 01223778575 beforehand so we can have it ready.
