The spinal tap has been completed and it did not give us anything new. The Neurologist still believes that everything is related to the degenerative muscle disease dad has and if it is the one they believe it is (MELAS) then there is no treatment and he will continue to get weaker. They did confirm today that the most recent MRI shows more lesions on the brain and at this point is unclear whether they will continue to get worse. At this point we do not have a difinitive diagnosis and probably wont. The plan is for dad to be discharged to a rehab facility, hopefully on Monday and attempt to get him to point that he is strong enough to return home down the road.
