The state of customer service at Best Buy store # 1794 in Selinsgrove, PA on 8-9-2013 In late June, I went to my local Best Buy and purchased a 5 sheet cross cut shredder for $39.99, plus sales tax. Best Buy has a 15-day return policy, and I was aware of the policy when I purchased the shredder. For four weeks, the shredder worked fine. I carefully avoided shredding papers with staples and paper clips. I made it a point not to run too many papers through at once, or to use the machine for too long a period of time. At some point during the fifth week, the shredder stopping shredding. Today, I took it back to the store where I purchased it. The manager I spoke with courteously declined to exchange it. He advised that I take it home and contact the manufacturer who would send me a box so I could ship it back to the manufacturer. I replied that I had bought the shredder from Best Buy, not the manufacturer. I said I expected Best Buy to make good on the purchase. The man declined to do so, and I left the store. When I departed, the shredder remained on the counter top in the customer service department. The conversation was cordial, but I am determined not to make any more purchases from Best Buy.
