The story of Shiva continues – Since Dasara (3rdOct14), time was passing fast and Shiva was slowly slipping back into his grim again. JOSH was determined to find a Psychiatric rehabilitation center for Shiva. Our efforts worked and after finding couple of them we could zero upon one, Amma Nana Foundation at Choutuppal, on the outskirts of Hyderabad. Action was to bring Shiva to the rehabilitation center. On 18thOct14 a team of four JOSH volunteers headed for Peddapur village, early in the morning, to fetch Shiva. After a journey of nearly one hour, we reached Peddapur. Our anxiety was turning into an unfortunate reality and Shiva was slithering to his ill fate again. His cloths were filthy and he looked dull. We could not make out whether he recognized us or not. Villagers had given some food to him in the morning. After changing a new set of clothes, we made him sit in the car and started the journey back. After a small stretch Shiva started feeling uncomfortable, may be the AC in the car was making him sick, along with the fast motion. We halted for a while to comfort him and started again. He was nice and cool throughout the journey and was often grazing thru a local newspaper kept in the car. Reaching the Amma Nana Foundation Shiva was immediately attended upon by the volunteers there and he was given some initial conduct of nail cutting followed by a plate of rice and curry. In the mean while we completed the formalities of filling up the forms and paying some fee for his treatment. The rehabilitation center was having about hundred patients who are given treatment and trained for a normal living. A sincere appreciation to the guys running this center selflessly enduring thru difficulties and lack of money. Hope the Govt. and Corporate rise and begin thinking about this class of people and their well-being as well. With the hope that Shiva would come back soon to normalcy and lead the usual life what everyone deserves, we bid adieu and we made our return journey.
