The story on La Gazzetta dello Sport (screenshot) MILAN’S PRIMARY target is Alessandro Diamanti but they are also evaluating their options according to the press. Everything can happen in the market according to Adriano Galliani (who in the same interview said Javier Pastore is impossible to sign) and Milan are looking for mercato opportunities and il Diavolo have already identified some of those. A lot of players have expiring contracts in 2014 and one of them is CSKA Moscow’s Keisuke Honda, whose contract expires in January, and is keen on a summer move. It appears that Milan, who wanted Honda in 2011, are again interested. Milan: “El Shaarawy not unsellable – everything can happen” Milan announce Ambrosini departure “I still have 6 months left of my contract with CSKA Moscow, but my intention is to leave the club now,” Honda is quoted as saying on La Gazzetta dello Sport. “I really hope that I can get to leave CSKA Moscow this summer.” Gazzetta estimates that the value of the Japanese playmaker, who will celebrate his 27th birthday tomorrow (June 13), is around €6 million. Honda would not only be able to bring good things on the pitch, but also on the marketing-zone; an Asian player could prove important in marketing the team in the world’s largest continent. But the Milano-based newspaper claims that Honda is only the alternative to Alessandro Diamanti. The 30- year-old Italian fantasista, who has a Bologna contract until 2017, is worth €10 million but Bologna will not sell after July 15. There is a lot of competition for both Keisuke and Alessandro. The Italian press suggests that Milan are also considering Christian Eriksen, 21, who’ll leave Ajax this summer as his contract expires next June. Eriksen’s price is believed to be €10-13m. Eriksen was asked about the Milan rumours after Denmark’s 4-0 Armenia defeat, and responded: “[Milan are] not [interested anymore] after the match against Armenia.” Any player that will come, whether it’s Honda, Diamanti, Eriksen or someone else, will probably arrive to replace Kevin-Prince Boateng. Adriano Galliani said the player hasn’t asked to leave but reports are that Chelsea and Monaco want him.
