The sun is shining. Im at McDonalds counting my last pennies of the month out to buy a soda and use the McDonalds wifi. I passed a gas station that said 2.03 a gallon. I calculated that I could make 7 round trips to Astoria for the price of one nights hotel stay. (leave at 6 am, arrive at 8 am) .... my heart SOARED! Less than two weeks to go before I invest in the Neon and point it west to the coast for the first days visit too. Im bringing some puppets and I will take a pic with Milo at the beach. Then I will take Milo over to the Arts and Movement Theatre in Astoria and introduce him. Ive always had the idea of having someone in a screen body suit manipulate Milo in front of the portable green screen I have. Hes a full body puppet with legs. (It could look really cool) I just need to find the right place to photograph him. I think its out there, so driving a hour and 47 minutes would be worth it! Im looking for opportunities out there. (nothing here in Centralia) Im not ready to just walk over to the local morgue, jump up on the slab, and hold a tulip in my hand either. I took out a puppet and thought about arts and crafts, making things, puppets, writing more novels and childrens books, and making more videos with puppets. I might find people interesting out there. Thats pretty thrilling. Two weeks until I start finding out if its possible! (fingers crossed!) Im trying to record voices for a puppet, but I cant record because the mic is picking up the loud boom boom stereo from the neighbor next door who blew things up yesterday. I cant even work at home. But thats okay, the commute starts in feb and things will change. (smiles) Two weeks until I explore a new college, talk to a writing instructor, visit the arts center and meet up with some filmmaker buddies for lunch, beer and good conversation about life. What with the boom boom, the banging, the explosions, the hooded druggies, moron gas stealing gangs.... there is still hope.
