The teachings of Yoga ask that we think, speak and act in a way - TopicsExpress

The teachings of Yoga ask that we think, speak and act in a way that will assist us in cultivating and reaching certain objectives in life. These objectives include a number of things such a better mental and physical health, an enlightened consciousness and clearer idea of what life represents for all of us. An important aspect of this is how we act and react to others.Yoga is asking that our practice of both Yoga and life is one that is not built on selfishness and ignorance but on healing others, ministering to others, and the performance of charity to others. When we heal another, we do things that assist them in evolving to something better, away from the chronic troubled, lost or confused state that they find themselves in at present. When we minister to another, we assist them in dealing with some uncomfortable or painful feelings or experience that they are having at the present or troubles them from the past. When we perform charity, we assist others in some sort of manner materially, perhaps in providing money, food, shelter, clothing and other tools that help an individual or group of individuals live better. A real measure of our evolvement in Yoga, whether we teach or learn it, is not our ability to do new, advanced or difficult postures, but our ability to heal, minister and give charity to all. In doing such a thing, we show that we have grown into a more understanding and enlightened state about Yoga, life and the challenges that others must deal with and face in their lives. In doing such a thing, we practice and apply the Yoga teachings of loving kindness, non – violence and compassion. In doing such a thing, we make the world a better place. - Akasula
