The team at Things of My Very Own, Inc. is more than a team, we are a family. We welcome volunteers to bring their children and other loved ones who may need additional care to work with them, regardless of their age and/or abilities. We feel that no one should ever have to choose between providing care to a family member and coming to work. This is because we understand and respect the importance of a family unit. When someone becomes a part of our family their family members become our as well. Our family laughs together. We cry together. We celebrate during moments of joy and when dark times occur, we stand together side by side. In the six years that Things of My Very Own, Inc. has been in existence, we have never closed our doors as we are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Last Thursday, a family member of one of our volunteers lost his life in a tragic accident. The gentleman who lost his life was a well respected firefighter and EMT. Since a great deal of our staff are also EMTs and firefighters, many of our team members are mourning his loss. So that we can provide support to the family and friends of this individual and stand by our volunteer during her time of grief, will be closing our doors from 12pm-5pm this Wednesday. We at Things of My Very Own, Inc. stand by the belief that when one of the members of our family falls we carry them. Mourning the loss of a loved one is no exception. On behalf of Things of My Very Own, Inc. I thank you for your understanding. Respectfully, Rayn Boncie CEO/Founder Things of My Very Own, Inc.
