The term dhruva in the Vedas relates to the mind in a fixed position or dharana - concentration, relating to it as ekagra or single-focused and not wavering or wondering. The term mano-yuja is also sometimes used, meaning to govern the mind or control the mind through the practice of Yoga (implying dharana). It is important for all students of Yoga to study these ancient terms and what they relate to in the Vedas. One single word itself can open up a world of implied meanings and practices, which have seldom been explored in the past 5100+ years since the end of the Vedic period. -Durgadas
