The terrified animals were actually screaming for their lives..The 4-H and Future Farmers of America pretend to teach real values to young children in hopes of thoroughly brainwashing them into believing that the raising of farm animals for profit and slaughter is a sound, moral thing to do. - A man named Dennis, in his recollection of a conversation with a slaughter house worker. The tax payer purchased and funded Wagner Farm (Glenview, IL) management has stated to Wagner Farm Rescue Fund that Wagner Farm 4H animals, after sale to auction for slaughter from the Lake County (IL) Fair, are killed by being bolt-gunned to their heads. That is a just one of the known ag industry methods in the taking of the lives of these animals. Often, bolt-gunning is known to just stun them for other killing methods utilized, which includes highly publicized documentation of them being knifed, drowned, and electrocuted. Wagner Farm, which is a public facility, can be questioned for specifics as to whether their personnel - and the children and parents who are club participants - actually go to the sites where their project animals that theyve sold to slaughter end up at, and to view animals being killed. And, most importantly, if they are there at the time that animals from their own 4H club that they raised themselves are actually being killed, and viewing it. It can be surmised what the answer would be. Wagner Farm has yet to be heard giving detailed information to even general questioning visitors to the farm as to the demise of their 4H animals, lest they risk damaging the sham of their bucolic facade. This account from a conversation with a slaughter house worker describes what happens when other known methods of killing these animals are included, and what animals sold to slaughter - including many, it can be surmised, who come from the Wagner Farm and their Glenview Clovers 4H - experience while being killed: ojaipost/2009/08/why-4-h-kids-should-not-send-their-animals-to-the-slaughterhouse/ To note, a representative of IL state 4H has stated to Wagner Farm Rescue Fund that sending project animals to slaughter is not a required part of their IL programming. Therefore, this is obviously a preferred outcome on the part of Wagner Farm and their Glenview Clovers 4H. Please read further for more details about Wagner Farms ongoing rejection of collaborative efforts with Wagner Farm Rescue Fund for humane placement of their project animals - even as to reject above market value payment for them. (Photos in this post are just some of the lambs and pigs who were sold to auction on July 26 as part of the 2014 Glenview Clovers 4H season) _____________________________ 2014 - Wagner Farm and their Glenview Clovers 4H sold 14 lambs (plus one other lamb died at Wagner Farm in June) and 9 pigs to auction for slaughter at the Lake County (IL) Fair in July. Gone are these lambs and pigs who have been victimized by the taxpayer purchased and funded Wagner Farm and their Glenview Clovers 4H club and sold at auction for slaughter in July at the yearly Lake County (IL) Fair. These are just some of the approximately 100+ animals that Wagner Farm and their Glenview Clovers 4H have sold to auction for slaughter since 2010 - and not even counting prior years - all while rejecting humane outcomes and even above-market value payment for them offered by Wagner Farm Rescue Fund. An IL state 4H representative has confirmed that sale to slaughter is not a requirement of IL 4H programming. The tax payer purchased and funded Wagner Farm telling the non-profit Wagner Farm Rescue Fund to just go to the slaughter auction sale and buy their 4H animals if we really want them is being equated by an increasing amount of the public as akin to municipalities who move voter polling sites miles away and then tell the public they can just buy a car to get there, get a ride, or take public transportation and/or walk to the polling site, etc., if they really want to vote. The detailed logistics involved in needing to make responsibly done advance placement and transport arrangement of animals essentially makes buying directly from the auction to be prohibitive, particularly for larger animals. This has been explained in detail to Wagner Farm repeatedly. As their continuing dismissive response is to just go to the slaughter auction - or that the animals can be taken to a meat market as a placement site as weve also been crassly told - this is also being equated by an increasing amount of the public as their calling for hoop jumping in a seeming intent to impede animal rescue and humane placement as this obviously does not support Wagner Farm goals. _________________________ Gone, but never forgotten - either are all the dozens of other animals, such as those part of the Wagner Farm Glenview Clovers 4H programming, lost before them due to the taxpayer purchased and funded Wagner Farms chosen discompassionate programming outcomes and now ongoing systematic rejection of collaborative efforts with those they deem unsuitable to work with for any reason as part of their camp - notably the non-profit Wagner Farm Rescue Fund who has made numerous overtures to Wagner Farm and the Glenview Park District for collaborative efforts, which are being repeatedly rejected. Once animals owned privately are brought to property that is taxpayer purchased and funded, such as Wagner Farm is, they immediately become the business of the public.
