The thanks for mine and all vets service is much appreciated. The 1960’s was difficult time for young men. The draft hung over our heads and the war in Vietnam was unpopular. Some sought school deferments. Some, who had connections, joined the National Guard. Some enlisted. A few went to Canada. Most just held their breath and hopped their number was not called. I have a memory of being in uniform and a pretty young girl approaching me on the street in Boston. “Do you like to kill children or are you just stupid,” she spat. A lonely sailor became a little more lonely. Thanks now means a lot. I only gave a little and I am remembering my brothers who gave much and those who gave all. youtu.be/LMUBWKJ5A_0
